I just down loaded the program and was testing it out. I created a sample game and a sample lineup. I want to delete them but the program will not let me delete them. How do I do this
Good evening. I just bought the APP StrikeEmOut and I am having some problems. 1, I put in the roster in the Lineup section but they keep disappearing or it’s all the same team lineup. 2. I can’t put any zeros in spaces. I also have a question: How would you recommend to change a batters position when it changes later in the game. By way of background, I will be scoring my fourth game. I generally score ten to fifteen games a year. I have been using a different APP, which hasn’t been updated in years. Hence one reason I want to switch. Thanks for any help or advise. Luis
Hey Luis! Thanks so much for using the app, and thank you for the details on the issue you're having.
The issue around the lineup was resolved in last week's update.
In this week's update you will finally be able to add 0's in spaces! Hope you enjoy the update.
For your question on changing positions — I think what I would do is utilize the next box below the box you entered the player's name along with a "hitter break" line to denote the inning that the change happened. You can enter anything you want here, it could be as little as just entering the position, or you could enter position + other details (as the name) if you prefer.
If you have a preferred method on how to do this on paper, let me know what that is and I'll see if I can't get it added to the app!
Thanks again for using the app, keep the feedback comin'!
Hey guys, love the updates. I have a question. The last time I opened the APP I got an add on the bottom. Was not sure if it was you or my Ipad mini. Let me know. Also, any chance that you can get a box score or a note on the game taken list. I now there is a note section within the scorecard and in the setting for the scorecard. However that notes does not appear on the list of games scored. I was trying to go back to remember a sequence during a game but since the games are listed and i couldn't remember the date, I had to open all of the games until I found the one I was looking for. If that list could either reflect the final score or you could see the Note section would be a suggestion of mine. Keep up the good work.
Hello hello! Yes, the ad is from the app. If you’re not a fan of ads you can always pay to turn them off in the game settings. The current price to disable ads forever for is $2.99! I like the idea of a box score to show up on the list! We can add that. Just so you know, we do already show the weather, wind, start/end time and the scorekeeper on the list! Thanks again for all of the great feedback!
Got it. A suggestion. Currently we can adjust the number of lines for pitchers, catchers and umps. Any chance we can do the same with substitutions for batters? I had a game where they substituted four times and was in a jam.
Thanks Luis! Appreciate the ideas! That’s a great idea, there needs to be a way to account for that! We’ll look into getting that into an upcoming release. Thanks for using the app!
Hello, the new feature to expand the inning when batting around is good but it expands both team’s scorebooks by default even when you only need it on one team, creating some confusion, I suggest making it individually for each team at a time to avoid discrepancies. Other than that I think the app is very good.
One recommendation I would suggest is having a clear button. I made the mistake when one team batted around and I didn’t notice the extra inning for the other team. I had to erase a couple of innings to get it right. PS, I will be updating my review at the Apple Store Thanks
I would like to try using this to score my Women’s Senior League games, but would need to have the capability to add up to 14 batters to the lineup. Is this possible?
Yep! Glad you found it. There are lots of features like this under the game settings. I definitely encourage you to create a few “practice games” and tap around to try stuff out before the first real game. Thanks for using the app! Hope the season goes well! I would love any feedback on how to make the app better!
Do you have a blog or somewhere to have a tutorial? I have just started. It is great but I would love a tutorial. One question is can you save your teams names number and position and then just tap them on n for each game. Right now I have to re add each person manually every game.
I also wish you could set different color options per team so you can give each team its school colors. Easier to tell apart quickly.
Thanks for the feedback! There is a tutorial in the app settings, although admittedly it doesn’t talk about the lineups feature — we’ll look into refreshing the tutorial in an upcoming release. But to answer your question, YES! You can absolutely go and save lineups. Just add a new lineup (from the initial screen on the app, at the bottom), and then when it’s time to score head on over to the settings from the scoring screen and tap “import one of my lineups.” You can also snap a picture of a lineup and the app can read it and import the info!
I like the feedback on team level colors! Thanks for sharing it. We can look into that one, too!
Glad you’re enjoying using the app. Happy baseball season!
Hi! Really enjoying this app so far!! One thing I’d like to see is the ability to move players around in a lineup. I score for the same team twice a week and having to retype the lineup is a lot some days. Would love if we could drag and drop players to another spot and then import the adjusted lineup into the new game. . This has been the only app to make me even want to give up my paper and pencil. Great job!!
Thanks so much! Glad you’re enjoying the app! Yeah! I can add the ability to move them around before importing into the scorecard. If you go to your lineup and tap “edit,” that already gives you the ability to move them around, but I can see why you’d want to do that at time of import — I’ll try to get that added soon!
As I continue to use this I’m really enjoying learning all the features! I’d love to be able to use different colors for different items. Example. Red for outs, green for change lines/inning breaks, blue for runs. When I score on paper I use different colors to make the items pop on the page. But honestly - so far this is the closest thing to paper I’ve found and it’s so simple to use I was even able to teach my 7 year old granddaughter to use it. Thanks for a great product.
Yay! We are thrilled you love the app and thrilled you love the art of scorekeeping as much as we do! And awesome that you’re inspiring the next generation of scorekeepers! Love your idea for more color customization. We are already working on some awesome new customizability features, and will definitely add this idea in an upcoming release. Thanks for using the app, keep the feedback coming!
Hello again, I just finished scorekeeping Opening Day game Brewers vs Yankees, I’ve been trying to export the game as image but it only exports the visitors team and then the app crashes everytime, am I the only one with this issue?
Info update, the above reported issue happens on my iPad (I installed the app last year), I installed the app on my iPhone moments ago to check if the problem continues and I noticed that when I try to export the game as image the app directs me to my phone settings to allow access to Photos but it doesn’t show that option anymore, it only shows Siri, Search and Cellular Data options but no Photos.
Hey there! We really appreciate the feedback and letting us know this issue started happening! Apologies this issue popped up. We’ve fixed what we believe is the underlying issue you were facing in the latest update (which will be available in a day or 2). Happy scoring! Please continue to leave us feedback! We are always looking for new ways to make the app better!
How do I leave a note outside the diamond from home to 1st? I can leave a note from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, and 3rd to home, but I can't do it in the bottom right.
Thanks for the feedback! You can long press right in the area there to add it. It does seem like the “end of inning” marker is getting in the way of it some though… we can look into tightening that up. In the meantime, if it’s easier, just long press in the middle of the diamond…. the “Score” pop up will show up, and then tap “More” to get to the right spot. Happy scoring!
Yeah on my phone I couldn't get the text box to show up for that area because of the end of inning marker. I didn't know I could do it through the middle though, that should work thanks.
How do you use the base feature and the half lines they create. If Simone gets a single, I’ll draw a dot on first base. If they steal second, I draw a line from first to second, so it seems I’m missing a key aspect of the base functionality. Regardless, I love the app. Thank you!
Thanks so much for asking the question, and very glad you’re enjoying the app! Typically if Simone reaches first, you draw a line from home to first. If Simone is caught stealing from first to second (or gets out going to second some other way), you would draw a half line from first to second. Keep using the app, let me know if you have any more questions!
How do you record walks? I’m also not seeing auto calculated stats like batting average. Maybe it’s because I haven’t differentiated between walks and hits?
Thanks for the question! Yep you can long press and enter whatever score you want! ALSO you can edit your “tappable” Favorite plays in the app settings, if you find yourself using the same play a bunch! Thanks for using the app, keep the questions coming!
Left an App Store review (5 stars) but those take forever to publish. Simply outstanding app, but I know you like feedback so I wanted to share some (it’s all pretty small things):
- A separate field to specify the venue. - The option to hide the ball/strike boxes for when you don’t feel like tracking them. - The ability to have separate scoring colors for home and visitor without having to switch each time. - An option to make the filled in diamonds from a run a bit darker or lighter (for light and dark mode respectively) so they visually pop a bit more. - A small box score field for the final score.
And a possible bug: - You can’t save preset colors. As soon as you touch anything on the color page, it picks the first thing you touched and kicks you back to the scorecard. When you go back in, it shows black selected so you can’t set another color to the list.
Awesome! Love all the feedback, thank you! And thanks for the 5-star review! Venue, of course! Why didn’t we think of that. It’ll be coming in a release soon. Some of these other visual items are already in the works, hopefully you enjoy the update coming hopefully later this week. The ones we don’t yet have in the works we will look into adding soon. Hm the color page is intended to save immediately then take you back to the “Select Color” page as soon as you tap the item you want from the picker. Please share a few more details on how you think it should ideally work, and we can take a look at making the user experience better. Thanks for taking the time to mention all of this! Glad you’re enjoying the app.
I made a short video to demonstrate the behavior. When I tap a color, say purple, it returns me to the scorecard automatically.
If I try to use a slider, the moment I touch the slider I get kicked back to the scorecard, and whenever you come back in to the color picker, it’s defaulted back to black.
This prevents from setting and saving a custom color. Ideally I’d be able to dial in a color or use a hex code and then click the + icon to save that color for future use, but with the current behavior I’m not able.
Video showing what I mean: https://youtube.com/shorts/e2cEXzReKNA?si=aBj05NZqFZ85tjGT
Fantastic, the video helps a billion. I wasn’t noticing the issue because I have only ever used the “Grid.” Now the issue is clear as day, and we’ll make sure it’s cleaned up next release. Thanks a bunch!
I agree that area should only use F but instead of just adding Xs it add a number. ie the third foul would be F3. This way you don’t fill the entire box with Xs and the number of foul balls can be counted for total pitch count.
Thanks for using the app and thanks for the feedback! Yeah I can see the need for F to be higher in the order! The pitch where the ball is thrown can be added, and by doing that it’s easy to tell what the strike count is. And it might be a bit cramped to have 2 digits in that small box? We are looking into updating the ease of tracking the pitch count, though!
Not inside the two strike boxes. I mean the area outside that. After the 2nd strike a foul ball is a pitch but not an out. Your app allows me to place either a c, s, x t or f.the first four are not needed. But further Fs are and only 5 more Fs can be placed. When have a ten pitch at bat (which I concede is rare) but happens I lose track of the pitch count. So why I suggest you can do it since it would be similar to the numbering in balls and strikes which you already provide.
Yeah! Makes sense. I agree with what you’re saying. The good news is you can currently add 10 extra strikes outside the box (there’s a 2nd row). But we will take a look and see if we can enhance the area a bit! Thanks for the feedback!
Gosh, I didn’t finish scoring last nights Cubs game during the game, but added all details to the Cubs team afterwards. I discovered how to expand the ninth inning, which means I learned how to manage batting around, but I couldn’t figure out how to add an extra inning. I spent about an hour with the app, and added the Cubs data. Nothing was saved this morning 😬
Hey there! Thanks for the feedback! Wow, no, data not being saved would certainly be well against our mission of providing a great place for scorekeepers to keep an electronic scorebook. Data saving and saving frequently is at the very top of our priority list. If you could, do us a favor and go to the app settings and email a copy of your data to yourself as a backup, and then after doing this go and add a new game and score like normal. Please let us know if this new game has any issues with saving the data. If it does we would like to work directly with you to resolve the issue. Thank you for using the app and providing great feedback! Hope you’re enjoying the updates!
Just started using the app. Love that it allows you to import MLB lineups. Is there any way it could have a place to put bench players and bullpen options on the scoresheet. It would be great if they import those players too?
Thanks so much for using the app, we're glad you're enjoying using it! Bench/bullpen players is a great idea! We'll be looking into this and trying to incorporate it into an upcoming release. Keep the feedback comin‘!
I haven’t used this for a game yet but it looking promising once I get the hang of it. Is there a way to edit a lineup name? I want to add a word to the name but couldn’t find the option, so I added a whole new one. Or a way to delete a lineup? The app keeps crashing if I try to swipe right to see if there are more options (like delete). It happens on both my phone and iPad.
Hey there! Thanks for stopping by! We’d love to hear your feedback once you do use it for a game! Yes — we are aware of this crash when deleting lineups. We have a fix that’ll be coming out in the next release. Apologies for the inconvenience! (As a temporary workaround, you can actually delete them IF you have MORE games than you do lineups). Currently there’s no way to rename a lineup — but it does make sense to add that feature, thanks for the idea! We’ll try to get that in an upcoming release, too. Happy scoring!
Like everyone else I just love this app!!! But there’s the odd thing I would like to make it better for myself.
1. Hitter and batter breaks having a larger thickness. Harder to see when zoomed out.
2. Errors. I personally would like a way to list errors for the player who caused the error. Feels weird blaming the pitcher or leaving it just inning totals for a fielders mistake.
3. Less an app request. More a what is this? But clicking the bottom right brings a line, clicking again brings an arrow, a 3rd time a line and an arrow and 4th time resets. New to scorekeeping and I have no idea what this means lol but if there’s a use can you let me know!
Thanks so much! Glad you’re enjoying the app! These are some good ideas! We’ll be sure to include these in an upcoming release. The line or arrow at the bottom right is frequently used to show the last batter of the inning. There are multiple ways to do this, and it’s ultimately up to the unique style of the person keeping score, but this is just an option for those who want to use it! Keep the ideas coming!
Still using and loving the app! Is there any possibility to expand the note taking aspect to be multiple lines? I love taking random notes throughout the game but it's currently limited to one line.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving us some good vibes! Happy you’re using the app and enjoying it! Sure, expanding the note field should be pretty easy, we’ll try to sneak that in the next release coming out later this week. Cheers!
I have a question about the pitch count feature. When I am scoring the game the pitches are registering for the same teams pitchers. I know that because the number in the box matches the team’s pitcher. What am I doing wrong?
Hey Luis! Generally scorekeepers will track pitchers from the opposing team on the same sheet. So visiting pitchers would be marked on the home team's score sheet, and vice versa.
This app was designed to keep track of pitches using this style. Hope this makes sense!
I love the total pitch count feature but I find that pitches that result in the ball being put in play ( I.e. a hit ball that will be recorded as a HIT or an OUT) are not being counted. It seems the only pitches that are being counted are those I record as strikes, balls and fouls. Am I missing something? Is there a setting I need to change? (And I’m not sure about pitches that result in a third strike and are recorded as a K and an out. Are these counted by the pitch count feature?)
Hey there! Thanks for stopping by and leaving us a comment! Happy to hear you're enjoying the app!
You are correct, we are not yet tracking hits/outs in total pitch count. The flyover pitch counter would be the easiest current way to track that. We just recently added the feature to have the balls/strikes auto-increment the pitch counter — glad to hear folks are already taking advantage of that feature!
We will look into adding a feature in an upcoming release related to auto-incrementing when the ball is play. There are obviously tons of possibilities of what can happen when a pitch is thrown, but I could see us making an update to track popular plays like hits/strikeouts/walks or something like that!
Cheers! Keep using the app and keep the feedback coming!
Thanks for this great app! I’m new at this and this user friendly app has truly helped me during this learning process. It would be great to be able to organize the lineups in alphabetical order.
Hey Mel! Thanks for leaving some feedback, love to hear stories like this one! So happy the app has made the learning process easier!
Yeah good idea! We'll add a sort option for lineups. I'm not sure if you mean for the lineups you created or for the "favorite team" lineups, but we should probably add a sort option for both honestly.
I'm back with more obnoxious feedback! Seriously though, thank you for expanding the notes section to be multi-line, I love it. This app is about the only way I can score games right now as young kids make it pretty impossible to use a traditional scorebook. I can easily score one-handed while wrangling a child.
My obnoxious feedback was that I've noticed that text written around the diamond (like 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, etc) gets covered up by the base lines unless base thickness is set to be really, really thin. I don't know if it's possible to have that spacing be tweaked with a slider or something? I feel bad asking for more as the app is already so good, but that's the one thing I've noticed lately that has potential for improvement.
Welcome back J.D! No such thing as “obnoxious feedback”!! You should know by now that feedback is our favorite lol. And you’ve given us some good ideas to make the app better!
Yeah good one! We can look into spreading out the base numbers a bit there.
Good news… we’ll have this updated in the next release so you can customize base number location! Keep an eye out for it in the next week or so… it’ll be in the scorebox style settings with a slider.
I just scored my first full game, last night, using the app, to test it out before taking it out in the field. It is so good! Thanks for designing such a wonderful product. I scored using Dark Mode during the game, as I was watching on TV and didn't want to get blinded with every at bat. I want to export it now as a picture, but not using Dark Mode, so that it can be seen as white with black text. But when I take the app out of Dark Mode, the scored game keeps the original settings and it mostly white and unreadable. Is there a way to either automatically have it reverse, or maybe a toggle to switch it?
Hey there! Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy to hear you’re enjoying the app! Yeah, if you use the default colors then it will automatically toggle between light and dark, but if you customize the colors the app will record and remember the color you use, regardless of the background. A toggle’s an interesting idea, although I’m not really sure that would look quite right if you just reversed colors. But we’ll look into it! Thanks so much for the feedback!
Hello, What a great app!!! can't seem to find how to end the game so the total will fill in or is this a manual process or am I just missing something. Thanks for the great work!
Thanks so much for leaving the feedback! There’s no way to end the game or anything. As soon as you put in any data it automatically saves it. The pitch counts are automatically incremented as you enter balls and strikes, but everything else is manual. Cheers!
I just down loaded the program and was testing it out. I created a sample game and a sample lineup. I want to delete them but the program will not let me delete them. How do I do this
ReplyDeleteHey there!
DeleteThank you for using the app, and thank you for your feedback!
You can delete games by swiping left on the row.
I'll add functionality to delete lineups in an update!
Please continue using the app, and please feel free to continue to ask questions or provide feedback here!
Thanks!

Hey Luis!
DeleteThanks so much for using the app, and thank you for the details on the issue you're having.

ReplyDeleteThanks for replying!

DeleteLeft an App Store review (5 stars) but those take forever to publish. Simply outstanding app, but I know you like feedback so I wanted to share some (it’s all pretty small things):
ReplyDelete- A separate field to specify the venue.
And a possible bug:
- You can’t save preset colors. As soon as you touch anything on the color page, it picks the first thing you touched and kicks you back to the scorecard. When you go back in, it shows black selected so you can’t set another color to the list.
Awesome! Love all the feedback, thank you! And thanks for the 5-star review!
DeleteVenue, of course!
DeleteIf I try to use a slider, the moment I touch the slider I get kicked back to the scorecard, and whenever you come back in to the color picker, it’s defaulted back to black.
DeleteThanks a bunch!
And thank you for the great app!!
Deletehey this may be a silly question but what do the horizontal line mean after tapping k and backwards k inside the diamond?
ReplyDelete*horizontal lines
DeleteNo silly questions!
DeleteThe horizontal lines are to represent hits — 1 line is a single, 2 lines is a double, etc.!
Thanks for using the app!
Given the prevalence of foul balls, I suggest putting “F” higher in the choice order, maybe after “X”
ReplyDeleteI agree that area should only use F but instead of just adding Xs it add a number. ie the third foul would be F3. This way you don’t fill the entire box with Xs and the number of foul balls can be counted for total pitch count.
DeleteYeah, that’s a good idea, too.
DeleteThanks for using the app and thanks for the feedback!
DeleteYeah I can see the need for F to be higher in the order!
DeleteYeah! Makes sense. I agree with what you’re saying.
DeleteThe good news is you can currently add 10 extra strikes outside the box (there’s a 2nd row).
DeleteHow do you make a tenth inning, and have you heard of data not being saved?
DeleteHey there!
DeleteThanks for the feedback!
In the setting section, looks like a wheel, you can increase the number of innings there
ReplyDeleteWhen entering a score, the text box is white and the font is also white. I’m using dark mode
ReplyDeleteThanks for using the app and for stopping by to leave us some feedback!
DeleteWhoops! You're right! We'll squash that bug right quick. Update will be coming out in a day or 2. Thank you for letting us know!
Just started using the app. Love that it allows you to import MLB lineups. Is there any way it could have a place to put bench players and bullpen options on the scoresheet. It would be great if they import those players too?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for using the app, we're glad you're enjoying using it!
DeleteBench/bullpen players is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteHey there! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteWe’d love to hear your feedback once you do use it for a game!

DeleteLike everyone else I just love this app!!! But there’s the odd thing I would like to make it better for myself.
ReplyDelete1.
DeleteThese are some good ideas!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and leaving us some good vibes! Happy you’re using the app and enjoying it!
DeleteSure, expanding the note field should be pretty easy, we’ll try to sneak that in the next release coming out later this week.
Cheers!
I have a question about the pitch count feature. When I am scoring the game the pitches are registering for the same teams pitchers. I know that because the number in the box matches the team’s pitcher. What am I doing wrong?
ReplyDeleteHey Luis!
DeleteGenerally scorekeepers will track pitchers from the opposing team on the same sheet.
So visiting pitchers would be marked on the home team's score sheet, and vice versa.
This app was designed to keep track of pitches using this style.
Hope this makes sense!
Then it’s not working properly. Is there a way for me to send you an image?
DeleteSure! Send a message to the Strike Em Out Facebook page.

ReplyDeleteHey there!
DeleteThanks for stopping by and leaving us a comment!
ReplyDeleteHey Mel! Thanks for leaving some feedback, love to hear stories like this one! So happy the app has made the learning process easier!
DeleteYeah good idea! We'll add a sort option for lineups. I'm not sure if you mean for the lineups you created or for the "favorite team" lineups, but we should probably add a sort option for both honestly.
Cheers!
I'm back with more obnoxious feedback! Seriously though, thank you for expanding the notes section to be multi-line, I love it. This app is about the only way I can score games right now as young kids make it pretty impossible to use a traditional scorebook. I can easily score one-handed while wrangling a child.
ReplyDeleteMy obnoxious feedback was that I've noticed that text written around the diamond (like 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, etc) gets covered up by the base lines unless base thickness is set to be really, really thin.
DeleteYeah good one! We can look into spreading out the base numbers a bit there.
Cheers!
Good news… we’ll have this updated in the next release so you can customize base number location! Keep an eye out for it in the next week or so… it’ll be in the scorebox style settings with a slider.
DeleteThanks for the great ideas! Keep em coming!
You're awesome, thank you so much!
DeleteI just scored my first full game, last night, using the app, to test it out before taking it out in the field.
ReplyDeleteHey there!
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great work!
Thanks so much for leaving the feedback!
DeleteThere’s no way to end the game or anything. As soon as you put in any data it automatically saves it.
The pitch counts are automatically incremented as you enter balls and strikes, but everything else is manual.
Cheers!
